Village Dragon Fair - 2019
Well, what a fabulous day that was! The weather just about behaved itself and the green was full of families having a great day out. The dragons were amazing and all deserved prizes, but the judges had to pick three, and 1st prize went to the smoke breathing St Michael and the Dragon in the church, congratulations to Sara and Hugh Dennis. 2nd prize went to ’Cherry’ by the children of Cherrywood Nursery, and 3rd prize to ‘Hello!’ by Bette Thomas and Tony Garland. The winners of Hunt the Dragon were Isobel Collet and Emilia Woodhouse.
Thank you to everyone who took part, all those out on the village green at 7:30am to set up, and at the end 6pm to clear away; those who ran stalls and attractions and all who made those amazing dragons. Thank you to everyone who performed in the arena and the hall, sold food and drink, donated to the stalls, ran the car parks and kept everyone safe.
Thank you to everyone who helped before the day and special thanks to all our sponsors. Most of all, thank you for coming, joining in, having a good time and spending a bit of money. We hope you also took away some great memories. The Dragon Fair is very special; we are so lucky to live in a community willing and able to create a day like it. All the money raised will support local organisations, clubs and services. Now, what shall we do for next year??!
