Dawney Hill Road Closure
Added at 17:29 on 08 October 2025
Dawney Hill will be closed from Caterham Close, travelling North towards Pirbrigh Arch and Brookwood from Monday 13th October for 22 weeks.
Travelling from Pirbright Village Green, motorist will not be able to travel up Dawney Hill and through to Gole Road or Connaught Road. Diversions will be in place.
- 24/7 Northbound one way closure
- A 24/7 one-way closure for northbound traffic on Dawney Hill (south of railway bridge) managed by temporary two-way traffic lights
- Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the A322 Bagshot Road
- Full Dawney Hill Closure (mid-day)
- A full closure of Dawney Hill and the Gole Road junction in both directions south of the railway bridge during 09.30hrs to 15.00hrs Monday to Saturday
- Traffic will be diverted to the A322 Bagshot Road or via School Lane. These times are mostly outside of school hours to help minimise disruption for school runs.
These works are being carried out at part of the Deepcut housing development by Skanska. An additional lane is being created at the top of Dawney Hill, so that there will ultimately be TWO lanes travelling towards the tunnel with a dedicated lane to turn left into Gole Road and a dedicated lane to go straight on through the tunnel.
Pirbright Parish Council was notified just days prior to these works taking place.
